EFFECTIVE SCHOOLS
Dear Rapid Run Students and Parents,
An effective school and district should continually ask, “How are we doing? What can we do better? How can we better serve our students?” We truly believe that Rapid Run Middle School will be one of the premier schools in our nation if we all work together. Last year with the help of parents, students and teachers, Rapid Run Middle School worked through a process to strength our commitment to the Effective Schools Model. This model is based on over thirty years of research and is recognized by the United States Department of Education as a highly effective school improvement model. On a local level, the Effective Schools Model is also being used at J. F. Dulles Elementary, Bridgetown Middle School and Delhi Middle School.
A key component for the success of the Effective Schools Model is the work of seven correlate teams, which you can learn more about by clicking on the Correlate Description button on the left side of this page. The focus of these teams is to work together to help every child be successful. Correlate teams are composed of students, parents, business partners, teachers, counselors, support staff, and administrators. To accomplish the work assigned to each correlate, the teams will be meeting on the 1st Friday (unless school is closed or faculty in-service) of each month from 1:45pm to 2:45pm. For a list of the specific dates, see the school calendar link. The correlate teams will hold their meetings in our school’s classrooms. As partners, we can work together to facilitate higher levels of student learning.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Brennan , Principal
